The Use of Technology at Alf Cuthbert School

Technology is ever changing. We need to support our students in using technology appropriately in all areas of life and as a learning tool.  Students in Grade 3-8 have assigned laptops that they use for a variety of activities, creating final drafts of written pieces, research, learning to type using correct form, using Office 365 programs appropriately, practicing skills, communicating with TEAMS, and using SeeSaw to communicate with family, staff, and to submit assignments.

Students in K-2 use ipads in the classroom to practice numeracy and reading skills with IXL, Subitize Tree, and EPIC.  We are also in the process for getting them signed up to use Reading Eggs.  Some grade 1/2 students use a laptop for typing and/or story writing later in their grade 2 year.

As always, the priority is to be safe and respectful digital citizens.
