Well-being=Well-becoming

In Lakeshore we recognize that the well-being of our students and staff is incredibly important.  Before we are able to learn, we need to know that we belong to a community that cares.

We also know that knowing where you come from is a key part of knowing who you are...  Approximately half of Lakeshore School Division students identify as First Nation or Metis and we are proud of being able to celebrate these cultures in our communities. We also acknowledge that our Division encompasses a significant portion of Treaty No. 2 territory and in the spirit of reconciliation, we work together in educating our youth about our past and future together. We also celebrate our pioneer heritage with the immigration of Icelandic, Ukranian, and other cultures coming together to found the towns that we now call home. As time passes, we continue to welcome newcomers to our area and celebrate the richness of our multicultural society.

What well-being looks like in each of our schools is as different as the people in the building.  We have a history of actively encouraging our staff to bring their passions to their work and from that we have a variety of programming that ranges from land-based learning to sports and music.  We also know that much of our well-being comes from the relationships that we have and one can never underestimate the power of a simple smile and 'welcome here' at the beginning of each day.
