Rocking H Ranch in Ashern

Mrs. Thage and her grade 5/6 class at Ashern Central would like to thank Ed and Mandy Hummel of Rocking H Ranch in Ashern for an amazing educational tour last week.

We learned about sustainable farming practices in Manitoba's Interlake.  Mr. Hummel explained how fields are used for different purposes on different years to protect the soil, and how water and the land around it is carefully managed to protect the natural water sources. We learned how cattle are raised and about all the equipment and technology that helps ranchers do their jobs.
